Hello! My name is Ashley, I am one of the judges for the Pick Your Poison Contest!
I really like the concept you're portraying for the theme. The hands of darkness pulling down the character looks very dramatic and by their faces you can feel a sense of emotion.
This may not be such a big deal, but why are the characters drawn inside this rectangular shape? I might have preferred them just to be drawn without this rectangular shape imprisoning them. And even if you still want to keep the shape, I would consider centering the shape so that it's not skewed to the left like it is currently.
Overall, I'm giving you a 5/10. I love the theme, but I think aesthetically, you could improve. The hair seems to be very stiff, and it would make the image more dramatic if you could see strands of hair flowing from the character or something of the sort. I would also like to recommend looking up some basic hand anatomy. I like the concept with the hands, but it would be nice to see them drawn with more definition. I do like your drawing, and I can tell you put a great deal of effort into it. Great work!
Thanks The reason I used the weird rectangle shape thing is that when someone dies they get a wider perspective than the person who's still alive. If that makes any since. Also, my brother was telling me how much this picture sucks the other day so I know it's not very good. I was rushing on it cuz the deadline was coming up and I had to finish it in my art class.
Anyway, thank you for the comment and for taking the time to look at my picture. :] Good luck with judging
When is enough enough... What difference does it make when popular artist vent vent vent and support a site that tolerates deviant behaviour. HA! no wonder its all in a name.

Your Darkest Dreams is a monthly feature devoted to sharing dark photography works from DeviantArt. Often misunderstood as "morbid" or "depressing", Your Darkest Dreams seeks to show this kind of photography in a new way: by showcasing art that is thought provoking, but at the same time unabashedly displays the beauty in darkness.
I can't believe so many artists dedicate their efforts and time to create authentic works of art for us to USE freely! In the world of 3D stocks [ most of it unknown to the photomanipulators ] you can find truly inspiring fantasy and surreal elements that could never be captured by a regular camera. And the best part is that most of them come in a transparent background, so we can simply click and drag onto our work. How fun, fast and easy is that?
A former volunteer with the Artist Relations team, `kuschelirmel has always been a wonderful role model within the community.
With a vibrant and eclectic gallery that would make anyone proud, her dedication to providing informative and easy to follow tutorials, journal CSS, and inspirational stock is clearly long overdue for recognition.
